Moscow State Pedagogical University, specialty: teacher of mathematics and IT. Graduated in 2003.
Second higher education: VGIK named after S. A. Gerasimov, film and theatre directing course under the lead of V. B. Akhadov. Year of graduation 2008, diploma (film) – 2009.
Advanced training: directing film and theater laboratories 2014, 2015.
Worked as a film director, screenwriter, playwright, editing director, concert organizer, theatre director, producer.
Short films have got many international festival selections and awards for the best film, best directing, best scripts (Great Britain, Tailand, Ukraine, Russia, USA, Armenia, China, etc).

Denis Firstov

Denis Firstov is an award-winning cinematographer, currently based in Tel-Aviv, Israel. Born, grew and graduated in Russia. Started shooting since 2013. Denis’s work has a Best Cinematographer award in Sochi Open Russian Film Festival 2016 for film “Kollektor” and Fantastic Fest Official selection, Sitges special mention of the jury, IFFR official selection for film “The Execution” which comes out at April 2022.

During career as a cinematographer Denis has filmed over 250 commercials, 3 feature films, and some TV series. In commercials he worked with such brands as Google, Nike, McDoland's, Coca-Cola, Pepsico, Renault, KIA, Chevrolet, IKEA, Danon and many more. Denis has also successfully filmed projects around the world in such countries as Japan, Czech, France, Italy, Kazakhstan, Georgia, China.

I’m a professional film & advertising director, few weeks ago I flew to Tel Aviv and I am getting used to it here. I'm just starting to learn Hebrew, but I can work in English and Russian, actually my English is far from exellent, but quite passable, at least I have experience in filming commercial projects in Europe and South America.

I have 15 years of experience in advertising productions, worked as a copywriter, editor and producer at the beginning of a career. Since last five years I focused on directing, quickly entered the top list of advertising directors in Russia, collaborated with BBDO, GREAT, DADA Agency, HAVAS, MOSAIC, Instinct, Friiends and worked with brands such as VISA, Président, Huawei, Microsoft, Leroy Merlin, FORBES, Honor, Bud Light, Société Générale, Yandex, Sberbank.

In last four years I shot five short films, many of which have been screened by european film festivals and I also made several branded content films commissioned by Huawei, Uncle Vanya, Transneft, Tretyakov Gallery, who have received millions of views on social networks. In December 2022, according to my own script, I filmed a pilot episode made by the film company «123 Production», the main partner of Netflix in Russia.

I’ve been a screenwriter and a playwright for more than twelve years.
My theatre credits include documentary, fiction and experimental plays produced on numerous stages in Russia, collaborations with Finnish, Polish and Czech authors, translations and adaptations of foreing plays and a nomination for the best playwriting at the Golden Mask 2020 national theatre award.
As a screenwriter I participated in various TV projects and two feature films.
For 8 years I was a leader of the Lubimovka Playwriting Festival and its affiliated projects, including Russian-American playwriting and translating exchange in collaboration with The Lark theatre (New York).

I was born in Moscow in the year 1983. In 2005 I graduated from the N. H. University majoring in Directing for Cinema and Television. Soon after graduation I started working as a 1st AD on a Russian adaptation of a cult TV show “Ugly Betty”. I also directed a number of music videos during that period. In 2006 one of my screenplays became a finalist of a literary contest “Debut”.
In the years 2006-2008, I worked as a VFX manager in GROMM production studio. And later, in 2009-2011, at FOX INTERNATIONAL PRODUCTIONS’ Russian office as a consultant. I was responsible for searching for new project for development and production. Feature films that were produced during my work at FOX are: The alien girl (2010), Love-carrot 3 (2011), We are family (2012).
Between the years 2011-2015 I was a creative producer in LEOPOLIS film company. Feature films that were produced during that period: Love in Vegas (2014), Status: Svoboden (2016). In the years 2015-2016 I served as a development producer at TV-3 Russian television channel: The Mentalist adaptation.
Currently I’m focused on my career as a director and producer.

A Russian screenwriter and producer. I wrote and produced my own web series, "This is Me,” which was selected for the Webfest Berlin, Marseille Web Fest, Realist Web Fest, Rio Web Fest, and more, and web series "Here I Come" which supports LGBTQ+ and HIV+ people in Russia. It was released in November 2020 on YouTube. The series became a first queer-project which has released after the protecting children from non-traditional values law existed. I am is also writing scripts for the main Russian cartoon series. I am a proud alum of the Russian State University of Cinematography.

Alexander Talal

My family and I immigrated to Israel from the USSR in 1991. 8 years later I went to the USA to receive higher education. I graduated from UC Berkeley in 2002 with a B.A. in Film Studies, where I studied screenwriting and acting. I have been working as a screenwriter in Russia since then, and as the head of Moscow Film School’s screenwriting department between 2012 and 2021.

My best-known projects are: Day Watch (the second film in Timur Bekmambetov’s two-part urban fantasy saga); the superhero fantasy The Black Lightning; an animated reimagining of Soviet dogs in space (Space Dogs); the horror-drama series The Kitchenblock about vampires in a Soviet summer camp in 1980 (based on a Russian bestselling book); the family drama Tell Her; and the upcoming feature adaptation of a Russian sci-fi dystopian novel We. I participated in the writing of the supernatural series The Passengers and wrote an eight-part web series 8 Ways to Love – eight stories in various genres based on types of love according to the ancient Greeks.

I still remember and speak Hebrew, though probably not well enough to write in it, but apart from Russian I write in English. My other creative interests are acting and prose. I am the author of the non-fiction book Myth and Life in Cinema (so far available only in Russian). My first English-language fiction novel Adam’s Perfection is now in search of a publisher, and the second novel is in progress.
